Double Blind Review Process

Double Blind Review Process

The Double Blind Review Process is a critical procedure for the publication of scientific articles in GEPROS. This process consists of two sequential stages involving a double-blind review system. The first stage is the desk review, where the editors analyze the received articles to assess their relevance to the journal's scope and their potential to contribute significantly to knowledge in the field of study. In the second stage, the articles approved in the desk review are sent to two experts who are part of the journal's pool of reviewers, for evaluation in the Double Blind Review system, or to external researchers selected for their knowledge in the article's study area.

The reviewers are professors and researchers associated with stricto sensu graduate programs of national or foreign educational institutions. They evaluate the articles considering the relevance of the studied topic, writing style, logical connection between the theoretical review and the use of appropriate references, adequacy of the methodological procedures, depth and consistency of the analyses, soundness of the conclusions, and the relevance of the contributions, using a predefined form provided to the reviewers.

After the evaluation, the editor can make three decisions: accept the article, request mandatory minor revisions, request mandatory major revisions, or reject it. If the manuscript is accepted with required revisions, the author must make the adjustments requested by the reviewers and editors. After verifying these revisions, the article undergoes proofreading, grammatical checks, adherence to the journal's adopted standards, and final document formatting.

It is important to note that in case of divergent evaluations between the reviewers, the editor may select a third reviewer or reject the manuscript. This process ensures the quality of the articles published by GEPROS and is a fundamental requirement for advancing knowledge in the journal's area of study.
